The “resurfacing” lasers used in the past caused a lot of side effects and convalescence could be very long. With the new advanced medical technology FSR Endymed, these problems are now a thing of the past. Research has uncovered a technique, the FSR Endymed, which cause the evaporation of superficial layers of the skin.

This technology has the unique property of being able to treat the whole body. It does this by producing thousands of tiny cylindrical holes very deep. Thanks to this (partial) fractional treatment, recovery is much faster than the old techniques. With each treatment, only 20% of treated skin is damaged. Five to seven sessions at intervals of two to three weeks are required.
We only apply anesthetic gel on the surface to be treated. The appearance of slight redness and swelling may remain for a few days following treatment. The results are visible after a few weeks and the skin will recover again during this period. This time is due to the gradual improvement of the subcutaneous connective tissues.
The sun, self-tanner and tanning booth are to be avoided 4 weeks before and 3 to 6 months after.
The treatment of facial acne scars, scars resulting from a wound or surgery, is paid by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec. We can combine this treatment with others like the IPL laser.
In addition, all patients will be met for free by a medico-esthetician to advise you on precautions and a skin care program. Dr. Sylvain Simard sees all patients and supervises all treatments.
The treatment for facial acne scars is paid by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec and done in the presence of the doctor.
