PHOTO-FACIAL REJUVENATION

Treatments available in the past to treat dark spots and facial wrinkles were “chemical peels” and dermabrasion.

There is now Photo-Facial Rejuvenation also called IPL or intense pulsed light. It is a technique that is adapted to your situation and your skin type and that does not cause any crust formation. It does not interrupt the patient’s activities when compared to other methods such as the high energy pulse laser and the Erbium YAG laser. It’s a safe and non-invasive solution, and it can help solve problems such as slightly softened skin, brown spots, skin pores, fine lines, dark circles and rosacea.

On the other hand, it may be necessary to combine a remodeling and the addition of hyaluronic acid to the treatments.

WHAT LEVEL OF ENHANCEMENT SHOULD I EXPECT?

If the structure of your skin is uneven or irregular, which is often caused by small blood vessels, or if your wrinkles are light, you can expect a good improvement. In this case, if your wrinkles or spots are more pronounced, you should expect more modest results.

ARE THERE ANY INCONVENIENCE?

The procedure, if done all over the face, can sometimes be uncomfortable.

In this case, no injection of anesthetic is necessary. You can then use topical anesthetic cream Maxilene and apply cold or soothing gel thereafter.

DO I HAVE TO PREPARE BEFORE EACH TREATMENT SESSION?

You must first avoid sun exposure four weeks before and after each treatment session. Your face should also be free of any make-up and be well cleaned. We will prescribe a skin care program that will be useful before the treatments and will also be used for the maintenance program. If you wish, an anesthetic cream such as Emla or Maxilene may be applied 10 to 15 minutes before each session.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY?

In general, you only need three to five sessions, administered every two to three weeks to get a great result. Then, you will only need an annual treatment to maintain your results, and we will also take the opportunity to review your individual skincare program.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Some effects can be observed:
  • Small rashes may appear, but they will disappear a few minutes or hours after treatment.
  • Your pigment spots may have a slightly darker appearance, but this will fade in the next few days.
  • A little swelling may appear in the most sensitive areas of the face.
  • In very rare cases, small blisters or vesicles of water can form which will be resorbed in a short time.
